Breaking: Another Bruins Forward to Announce his Retirement
The face of the Boston Bruins will truly never be the same after this offseason.
Following the definitive retirement announcement of the captain and franchise icon, Patrice Bergeron, the team is about to officially lose another key player from its organization.
Indeed, according to information reported by journalist Jimmy Murphy from Boston Hockey Now, veteran David Krejci is expected to announce his retirement from hockey shortly.
"According to an NHL source, longtime Bruins center David Krejci will announce his retirement from the NHL and hockey in general 'very soon,' but he could still represent the Czech Republic at the 2024 World Championships." - BHN
Consequently, the Bruins will lose their first and second-line centers in one summer. Needless to say, this could have significant repercussions on the team's performance next season.
Obviously, like Bergeron, it marks another significant chapter turning in the organization's history, as the Czech forward has had a remarkable career of 1032 games with the team, scoring 231 goals and 786 points along the way.
