Breaking: Former 2018 first-round pick of the Florida Panthers, Grigori Denisenko, has just been claimed by the Golden Knights
Many fans were surprised to see that the Florida Panthers had placed forward Grigori Denisenko on NHL waivers yesterday afternoon. Indeed, although he hasn't yet reached his full potential, the Russian was still selected 15th overall in the 2018 draft.
Unsurprisingly, a team from the NHL took a chance on him in the last few minutes. It's the Vegas Golden Knights who potentially struck gold by adding the forward with very intriguing potential.

At 23 years old, Denisenko totaled 12 goals and 24 assists (36 points) in 56 games with the Charlotte Checkers in the AHL last year. Despite his outstanding skills, the former Florida Panther never truly managed to establish himself in the NHL, only amassing 7 assists in 26 games.
He will surely try to make the most of this opportunity to jumpstart his career and possibly become a front-line forward with the reigning Stanley Cup champions.
