Breaking News: Catastrophic turn of events for the Habs regarding Matvei Michkov
Among the many red flags surrounding the situation of young Matvei Michkov, his three-season contract with SKA St. Petersburg seemed to scare several general managers who were afraid that the 18-year-old forward would stay in Russia at the end of his agreement.
However, the Russian prodigy and his translator have just announced that Michkov will not be at the Flyers' development camp this week, but he definitely plans to participate in the training camp next fall with the aim of earning a spot in the NHL for the 2024-2025 season.
"Matvei Michkov and his translator say he won't be at the scouting camp next week, but they expect Michkov to participate in camp next summer and join the Flyers team in the fall of 2024."
Wow! What an unexpected turn of events!
This means that Matvei Michkov could make his debut with the Flyers even before David Reinbacher plays his first match in the Canadiens uniform. We did not expect this at all!
