Breaking News Involving Former Habs Tomas Plakanec
We have just learned that former Montreal Canadiens player Tomas Plekanec has signed a new contract with his team, the Knights of Kladno, in the professional league of the Czech Republic.
Here is a message from his Kladno GM regarding his signing:
"Negotiations took a bit longer, but we are happy to have finally reached an agreement, and Pleky will play another season wearing our jersey. We all know how important Pleky is to us."
Jiri Burger, General Manager of Kladno club
It must be said that the former number 14 of the Habs is still in great form in this league, as he was the top scorer of his team last season, collecting a total of 16 goals and 49 points in 52 games.
Despite entering his 24th professional season and celebrating his 41st birthday next October, he is not even the oldest player on his team. He is surpassed by hockey legend Jaromir Jagr, who will be playing alongside Plekanec at the age of 51.
