Brendan Gallagher has a nice surprise for Habs fans
Selected 147th overall in the 2010 Draft by the Canadiens, Brendan Gallagher has played his entire career in Montreal so far. He made his NHL debut in the 2012-13 season and brought a breath of fresh air with Alex Galchenyuk.
There was even a line of young players, with Lars Eller as center, and it worked well for a while. Over the last 10 years, Gally has given us some great moments, but he never really learned French.
Now in a relationship with Quebecer Emma Fortin, number 11 is reportedly taking French lessons and making progress. At least that's what Montreal Gazette journalist Stu Cowan reports. He now has a real stake with his extended family, and the adopted Quebecer could very well speak to us in French for real in the coming months.
