Carey Price back on top? Very interesting statement from some players who still believe he is the best in the world
People tend to think he's no longer in the discussions because it's been two seasons since he played, but Carey Price is still an NHL player until the end of his contract in 2026.
When The Athletic conducted its annual survey among players to determine the best goaltender in the world, no one expected Carey Price's name to come up.
Obviously, Andrei Vasilevskiy (44.6%) took the top spot, but there were still votes for the Canadiens' goaltender.
This goes to show how much Price has left his mark on his generation, standing out as one of the best in his profession. His work is still being recognized, nearly two years after his last appearance on the ice.
So, Carey has two seasons left on his contract after this one. The chances of him returning to play seem slim, but that's not a reason to overlook the positive impact he had on the team, the league, and the fans.
