Obviously, as Raphaël Simard of Danslescoulisses.com reports, some choices can be much more difficult than others and that's what happened with the Canadiens' all-star team.
This lineup makes a lot of sense and couldn't have been better. However, it's in front of the net where things get complicated, considering that the Canadiens have had several legendary goaltenders over the years.
Indeed, Carey Price was placed ahead of Patrick Roy on this all-star team!
Ken Dryden and Price are the two goaltenders for the Canadiens.
This means that big names like Roy and Jacques Plante have been left out.
Statistically speaking, this decision makes a lot of sense if we take into account Price's shutouts and wins over his career. 49 shutouts and 361 victories over 712 games played. That's more than impressive!
This does not detract from the performances and careers of Roy and Plante, but we must remember that Carey Price has never had an extraordinary team in front of him, like these goalies.
This decision can obviously be a cause for debate, but in my opinion, it is easily justifiable.
