Disturbing news regarding the injury suffered by the Montreal Canadiens' prospect
We received very concerning news about Montreal Canadiens' prospect David Reinbacher last night. The fifth overall pick in the recent draft took a heavy fall into the boards, appearing to injure his right knee on the play.
Although he briefly returned to the game, the defenseman only played two shifts before heading to the locker room for the remainder of the match.
"According to Patrik Bexell, David Reinbacher left the game early tonight after losing his balance in a collision, and then hitting the boards in an unusual way for his right knee. He came back for two shifts later, but he was clearly uncomfortable and/or in pain. He didn't return to the game. I doubt he'll play tomorrow." - Thibaud Chatel
Furthermore, David Reinbacher wasn't in uniform for HC Kloten's game today, suggesting that his injury might be more severe than initially thought. We sincerely hope he will be able to return to the game soon as he needs valuable ice time to continue his development.
Selected in the first round this summer, the Austrian player was a key contributor to the success of the Swiss team last year, collecting 3 goals and 19 assists (22 points) in 46 games.
