Indeed, according to multiple sources close to the Boston Bruins organization, the talented young goaltender Jeremy Swayman has asked to be traded for family reasons.
At just 24 years old, he formed a formidable duo this season with Linus Ullmark. In 37 games, he posted an average of 2.27 and a save percentage of 0.920. These are astonishing statistics for a goalkeeper who wasn't even the starter for most of the games.
Moreover, he has an impressive total of 54 wins, 23 losses, 9 shutouts, a goals-against average of 2.24, and a save percentage of 0.920 since the start of his career.
Currently a restricted free agent, and due to Ullmark's presence on the team for at least two more seasons, he possibly wants a new opportunity to fully establish himself as number one, even though he had developed a magical bond with his partner in front of the net.
Obviously, if the Bruins trade Swayman, they will certainly ask for a high price. However, the Canadiens must still inquire about his value, as he could assume a very significant role for many years in Montreal, with a tandem composed of Samuel Montembeault and him.
