Montreal Canadiens forward Christian Dvorak suffered a severe knee injury last March 15, forcing him to miss the end of the regular season. The center underwent surgery this summer, thereby putting an end to the many trade rumors surrounding him.

Moreover, according to numerous sources, Dvorak was expected to miss several games at the start of the schedule, potentially forcing head coach Martin St-Louis to use Alex Newhook or Sean Monahan on the third trio. However, the 27-year-old forward seemed to have worked very hard during the summer season to return to the top of his form.

Although it was only light exercises, Dvorak was back on the ice at the Bell Sports Complex this morning, and he seemed quite comfortable. Of course, we will have to wait to receive a final verdict from the team's doctors, but it is still very encouraging to see that he is back on skates one month before the first game of the year against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

For sure, it's great news to see that Christian Dvorak is making great progress in his rehabilitation process, and we strongly hope that he will be ready for the start of the 2023-2024 season. His return would allow Martin St-Louis to give more playing time to players like Newhook and Monahan, who could have a crucial role in the top 6 of the team this season.

Since his arrival with the Montreal Canadiens, the Palos Heights native forward has accumulated a total of 21 goals and 40 assists (60 points) in 120 meetings. He should, once again this year, center the team's third trio and play many minutes on the penalty kill.
