Trade Alert within the Canadiens organization: A young defender has been traded to the affiliate club of the New York Islanders
In the last few hours, a transaction involving the Canadiens' ECHL farm team, the Trois-Rivières Lions, has occurred. Indeed, the new general manager, Ron Choules, has traded the rights of defender Connor Welsh to the Worcester Railers (affiliate club to the New York Islanders) in return for financial compensation.

Connor Welsh, aged 25, played his first full season in the professional ranks last year. The Halifax native defender accumulated a total of 2 goals and 18 assists (20 points) in 63 meetings with the Trois-Rivières team.
