Dubois Derby: Kent Hughes has just imposed a major condition regarding his arrival in Montreal
As the NHL Draft approaches, rumors about the next destination of Pierre-Luc Dubois continue to grow and new information keeps emerging in the media.
Sportsnet journalist, Eric Engels, notably made a very significant revelation regarding Kent Hughes's plans for the draft, but also in relation to the Pierre-Luc Dubois file. Indeed, according to him, there would be a major condition that would prevent the Canadiens from acquiring the Quebecer at the moment.
According to his information, the general manager of the Tricolore first wants to try to get a pick among the first four selections of the draft in order to acquire Leo Carlsson or Will Smith. However, if the Canadiens cannot move up by June 28, Kent Hughes could turn to a transaction aimed at bringing the 24-year-old forward to Montreal.
Could we therefore witness a transaction during the draft as was notably the case with Kirby Dach last season? One thing is for sure, the Canadiens are currently trying to add a leading center to their lineup.
