Over the past few hours, Arpon Basu has written an excellent article on "The Athletic" website about Pierre-Luc Dubois and the Canadiens. Indeed, the journalist has revealed what General Manager Kent Hughes would be willing to offer in order to acquire the Quebecois player.
"The Canadiens would certainly like to create a package centered around Christian Dvorak, Josh Anderson and one or two prospects, but why would the Jets do that when there would be better players offered by other clubs." - Arpon Basu Wow! This is a much less appealing proposal than the one from the Kings mentioned by Kevin Wiebe yesterday, but it is still very reassuring to see that the Habs are not planning to fall into a huge bidding war in order to pay an excessive price to acquire Pierre-Luc Dubois' services.
Several experts have notably mentioned that Kevin Cheveldayoff wanted to get 22-year-old center Kirby Dach in return for the Quebecois player, and we are very happy to see that Kent Hughes does not wish to deviate from his plan by keeping him in Montreal.
While Pierre-Luc Dubois had an excellent season with a haul of 63 points in 73 games, Kirby Dach showed very promising signs last season, and he could emerge in the coming years. Moreover, unlike Dubois' astronomical salary demands (9 million dollars for 8 seasons), Kirby Dach has a much more advantageous contract, earning a salary of 3.363 million dollars for the next three seasons.
If Kevin Cheveldayoff would be willing to accept a package including Josh Anderson, Christian Dvorak, and two prospects, would you like to see the 24-year-old forward come to Montreal?
