Excellent news for Martin St-Louis and the Montreal Canadiens, and it is confirmed for defenseman David Savard
Among the good news of the day, notably, is the return to the ice of defenseman David Savard.
It tends to be overlooked because he doesn't do anything extravagant, but Savard is extremely important for the team due to his defensive play and leadership. He actually got injured doing what he does best, blocking shots.
Savard has not yet reached the stage of practicing with his teammates, but he was on the ice before the team's morning practice. It's still a significant step in the right direction for him.
This also means that Kent Hughes will have to make a decision, and it's likely that Gustav Lindstrom will be the one affected, or Jayden Struble. It remains a good problem for the organization.
