Extremely concerning scene live from the Bell Centre involving Michael Matheson and Erik Johnson
The Canadiens faced off against the Buffalo Sabres at the Bell Centre. During the first period, on a power play, the Habs buzzed in the offensive zone but couldn't convert.
We held our breath during a sequence when Michael Matheson leaped over Erik Johnson to avoid a collision. However, Matheson's skate accidentally cut through Johnson's jersey, and the Sabres' defenseman instantly grabbed his arm.
There was concern that he might have been cut on the arm, but like a true warrior, Johnson stayed on the ice and finished his shift.
Fortunately, the damage turned out to be just to his jersey. Johnson remained on the bench. It was a close call.
