Head Coach position for former Canadiens star Patrick Roy: He opens up about his plans, and it's disappointing for the fans
There have been a lot of rumors about the possibility of seeing Patrick Roy end up with the Ottawa Senators lately, but it seems that this possibility is either delayed or simply dead in the water.
DJ Smith is still the trusted man in Ottawa, and players have expressed their appreciation for the coach. When a veteran like Claude Giroux stands up and says that he and his teammates are ready to go to war for Smith, you listen.
Patrick Roy was in Toronto last week, on the sidelines of Pierre Turgeon and Pierre Lacroix's induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame. RDS's Patrick Friolet asked him if he had received any offers.
"No, no, we're quiet. I plan to spend a good part of the winter in Florida. It's going to be a rather relaxed winter."
It's clear, but it's very disappointing for hockey fans who are really looking forward to seeing him back behind an NHL team's bench. Hopefully, he receives an offer soon.
