Important statement involving Juraj Slafkovsky and Brad Marchand: The Montreal Canadiens hit the mark
The least we can say is that Juraj Slafkovsky has transformed as a player in the past two months. While there were questions about whether he should spend time in the AHL, we are now convinced that he belongs on the first line.
His progress has been rapid, and we can see how high his ceiling is, especially considering he's only 19 years old and still has many aspects of his game to develop.
The Slovak player is particularly strong at even strength, accumulating more points than Brad Marchand over the past two months.
Slafkovsky in the last 2 months:
27 games
 5 goals
 14 points (43pt pace)
 12 evp (1st on Habs)
more 5v5 points than Brad Marchand
 50.23 5v5 xGF% (3rd from Habs forwards)
He's still a 19 year old btw.
Comparing him to Marchand, who has 41 points in 44 games, is comparing him to a player who has already reached 100 points in a season and exceeded 80 points four times.
This doesn't definitively mean Slafkovsky will have such a productive career, but it provides strong arguments to have confidence in his potential.
