While we weren't really expecting Kent Hughes to make any moves this weekend, the Montreal Canadiens' General Manager surprised everyone by completing a three-team trade to bring Jeff Petry back to the organization.

Only one year after being traded to the Penguins, the 35-year-old veteran is back with the Canadiens. This means that the cost of acquiring Mike Matheson, Casey DeSmith, Nathan Légaré, and a second-round pick was only Mike Hoffman, Rem Pitlick, and Ryan Poehling.

Wow! It's undoubtedly another brilliant move from our GM!

However, just hours after finalizing this transaction, Kent Hughes might already be on the verge of announcing a new signing. Indeed, the tough 6'4", 212-pound player, Jujhar Khaira, was reportedly seen at Montreal's airport yesterday.

Could the former third-round pick of the Edmonton Oilers be joining the organization? That's the rumor circulating on social media right now.

The trade yesterday proved one thing about Kent Hughes: he doesn't plan on taking vacations as he's continuously looking to improve the team in the short, medium, and long term.

The arrival of the 28-year-old forward could provide the Canadiens with insurance for their fourth line. Moreover, Khaira brings a very physical style of play, something that the team's offense currently lacks.

Since he's still without a contract for the upcoming season, the former forward of the Chicago Blackhawks and the Edmonton Oilers might be tempted to accept a discounted contract to continue playing in the NHL. He could, therefore, represent a very intriguing option for the Canadiens, who undeniably need to add some physicality to their lineup.

Unfortunately, as some fans have reported in response to Jack Han's post, the agencies Octogon and Quartexx hold training camps in Montreal every summer, which could explain why the player is in Quebec at the moment.

However, according to Puck Pedia, Jujhar Khaira's agent is Kurt Overhardt, who works for the firm KO Sports Inc. This information somewhat contradicts what some fans have claimed and adds fuel to the fire regarding the possibility of seeing the forward with the Montreal Canadiens next season.

Selected 63rd overall by the Edmonton Oilers in 2012, Jujhar Khaira has played over 300 NHL games. The left-winger from Surrey, British Columbia, recorded six goals and eight assists (14 points) in 61 games with the Blackhawks last season.

What do you think? Should Kent Hughes offer him a contract?
