In recent days, we have mentioned that the potential future of the Arizona Coyotes would be decided in May, as a major referendum takes place in the city of Tempe, to validate or not the massive development project, which includes a possible future home for the franchise.
The vote is finally taking place today, and insider Frank Seravalli has stated that it's the biggest day in the history of the Coyotes franchise.
"No hyperbole: today is the biggest day in the history of the Coyotes franchise.
Tempe voters hold the future of the Coyotes in Arizona in their hands. Some information explaining today's vote, why it is important, and what is at stake in winning or losing." - Frank Seravalli
If the vote turns out to be a "no" from the citizens, it is very clear that the organization would be in danger in Arizona. The NHL commissioner might have to resign himself to relocating the franchise elsewhere, and quickly.
More details will follow on the developments of this case.
