It's now confirmed for the young Emil Heineman
With the injury announced to Tanner Pearson last week, the Canadiens recalled forward Emil Heineman from the Laval Rocket.
Heineman took Jake Evans' spot during the team's practice on Friday, and there was genuine belief that he could secure a spot in the lineup.
However, Jake Evans will not miss Saturday night's game; it's now confirmed. Nevertheless, there was no certainty about whether Emil wouldn't play. He could very well be used in place of another player.
Unfortunately for him, Martin St-Louis confirmed that it wouldn't be on Saturday night.
"Martin St-Louis says Emil Heineman will NOT play tonight vs. the Islanders - no line-up changes from Wednesday's game."
- Priyanta Emrith
The young player will have to be patient. It's a shame because, as Anthony Martineau rightly pointed out, Heineman could be a quality asset on the power play, especially when the second unit has been less than effective.
