It's over in Detroit for the former Montreal Canadiens player, Jeff Petry
Jeff Petry was acquired by the Detroit Red Wings just before training camp, and already Steve Yzerman may be regretting the acquisition. Despite being a native of the region, Petry has been unrecognizable in the early part of the season and has already found himself in the press box.
It appears this will be the case again for tonight's game, as defenseman Justin Holl has been chosen over him.
"Holl will replace Petry on the #LGRW blueline. Projected lineup vs. FLA.
DeBrincat-Larkin-Raymond
Perron-Compher-Copp
Rasmussen-Veleno-Sprong
Kostin-Czarnik-Fischer
Walman-Seider
Chiarot-Holl
Maatta-Gostisbehere"
This is a tough development for Petry, who should normally be in the top three of the team's blue line. If he doesn't turn things around, it wouldn't be surprising if his contract is bought out, putting his career in jeopardy, as Yzerman is unlikely to wait two more years for his contract to expire.
