Jake Allen traded in the West? Kent Hughes just got a golden opportunity
While Kent Hughes attempts to trade Jake Allen or Cayden Primeau (likely more Allen), Pierre LeBrun provided information last week, stating that the Canadiens have not received any formal offers for the two goaltenders.
The arbitrary December 25th deadline set by many observers and experts is now in jeopardy, and the Canadiens might return from the Christmas break with the same issue of having three goaltenders on the roster.
However, a door has just opened for the Canadiens' GM, as Pheonix Copley, the backup goaltender for the Los Angeles Kings, sustained an injury and will be out for an extended period.
This presents a golden opportunity for Hughes to reach out to his counterpart with the Kings, especially since the California team is expected to make the playoffs and will need a solid goaltending duo to keep up with the pace.
Limited to a first-round exit in the last two campaigns, the Kings will undoubtedly strive to secure home-ice advantage this year.
