Juraj Slafkovsky compared to a star player: Huge statement that will greatly please the fans and it's not coming from Montreal
For several weeks now, Juraj Slafkovsky has found his rhythm and has become a much more dangerous player. Many fans may not be convinced yet, but it's just a matter of time.
Looking elsewhere in the NHL at what is being said about the Slovak, one can start to believe more seriously. The Hurricanes' announcers were a good example of this on Thursday night, saying very positive things about the 2022 first overall pick.
Carolina Hurricanes broadcasters continue to froth at the mouth, saying "Slafkovsky is going to be so special one day."
I think it's really obvious when you watch what he does without bias or hatred that he's super special.
It's quite praiseworthy, but that's not all. The people in Carolina are well-placed to compare him to one of their best players, forward Andrei Svechnikov.
"The radio cast for Carolina was talking about how Slaf will be the next Svechnikov and maybe even better. I'd be fine with that."
We're talking about a star player here, capable of scoring over 60 points per season and providing very physical play, creating space for his teammates.
If Slaf becomes an even better player, he will be very important for the Canadiens in the years to come.
