Kent Hughes would have finally acquired the best forward for the Canadiens with the selection of Slovak Juraj Slafkovsky
There is increasing talk about Juraj Slafkovsky becoming quite the hockey player. His progression is impressive, and he is already playing on the first line.
He's not just a passenger; he's already crucial alongside Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield. He creates space for them and is starting to contribute to the scoresheet more regularly.
His peak is still far away, as he is only 19 years old. According to Luc Gélinas, he will be nothing less than the best forward for the Canadiens in two years.
The journalist is somewhat reserved because we haven't seen Lane Hutson in action in the NHL yet, and he has the potential to become a remarkable player, but he is convinced that Slaf will be better than Caufield and Suzuki.
Recall that the Canadiens selected the number 20 first overall in 2022, clearly stating that he would be the best player from that draft in a few years. It seems like their vision is starting to gain belief.
