Major development: Alex Galchenyuk has been arrested by the police
We mentioned to you earlier this afternoon that the Arizona Coyotes had bought out the contract of Alex Galchenyuk just 12 days after announcing his signing.
This story seemed rather nebulous at the time since the organization had not wanted to comment on the situation, but we now have all the details. Indeed, the former Montreal Canadien forward has been arrested by authorities, facing numerous charges.
NEWS: The Scottsdale Police Department has confirmed to The Athletic that Alex Galchenyuk was arrested on July 9 on a number of charges, including hit-and-run on private property, disorderly conduct, failure to obey, resisting arrest, threat or intimidation.
More details to follow.
