Major new information regarding the CH's choice at the 5th spot and about Matvei Michkov
The excellent Marco D'Amico has just mentioned a major new piece of information about the potential choice of the Montreal Canadiens with their 5th overall pick.
According to what he reported recently on Twitter, based on the conversations he had today, the Habs would set their sights on forward Ryan Leonard with their choice.
Further according to the information he obtained, Connor Bedard, Adam Fantilli, Leo Carlsson, and Will Smith should all be selected among the top four, and unless there is a significant change in circumstances, Kent Hughes and his team will overlook Matvei Michkov.
Moreover, the Russian forward could well end up with the Philadelphia Flyers, as the Arizona Coyotes would opt for defenseman David Reinbacher.
D'Amico asserts that GM Daniel Brière would strongly consider choosing Michkov if he were to slip to the 7th spot, thus stealing the Russian phenom from the Washington Capitals.
