As previously announced by GM Kent Hughes, the team is not expected to make big moves, but they could still be active today.
According to journalist Marc-Antoine Godin, two veteran right-handed defensemen, Connor Carrick and/or Dylan McIlrath, are potential targets for the Montreal organization.
These players are likely to provide depth and add leadership and experience to the young Laval Rocket team, which will welcome several rookies for the upcoming season.
At 29 years old, Connor Carrick has gained experience in 242 NHL games. This season, he recorded 44 points in 63 games in the AHL with the Boston Bruins' affiliate team.
Meanwhile, 31-year-old Dylan McIlrath has played 72 games in the NHL. The 10th overall pick in the 2010 draft just won the Calder Cup in the AHL with the Hershey Bears. He accumulated 13 points in 60 regular-season games.
