Montreal Canadiens: a player is missing, and his career could well be over
Last week, the Canadiens finally announced the highly anticipated signing of goaltender Samuel Montembeault. This was followed by a press conference with the main parties involved, including Kent Hughes.
The organization handled it in good form, and Hughes took the opportunity to provide an update on the club's injured players, who once again are numerous. However, he did not mention defenseman Chris Wideman.
In fact, since the announcement in September that he would be out indefinitely, there has been radio silence regarding his case. He was seen with the team during their visit to St. Louis and once or twice in Montreal, but otherwise, no news has been given about the number 6.
It's known that he is dealing with a back injury, but his prolonged absence and the fact that the organization seems to have forgotten him lead to the belief that it's probably over for him.
Hopefully, he still has a decent quality of life, but as far as playing hockey, whether in the NHL or elsewhere, it seems that conclusions could be drawn very soon.
