During an interview with journalist Simon-Olivier Lorange from La Presse, Nick Suzuki made a very interesting revelation to Canadiens fans.
As he discussed the upcoming NHL draft and the organization's 5th overall pick, the captain of the Canadiens indicated his top three targets with this significant selection.
Here's what he had to say about it:
"Nick Suzuki has been following the recent NHL lottery that awarded the Canadiens the fifth pick in the upcoming draft. 'We'll have a very good player,' he said confidently. Right away, he mentioned the names of Will Smith, Matvei Michkov, and Leo Carlsson among those who excite him the most." - Via La Presse Wow! We strongly hope that Kent Hughes and the Canadiens' management are listening to Suzuki's requests.
Given the high likelihood that Michkov will be the one available at the Canadiens' position, we are particularly thrilled to hear his name from number 14's mouth.
Of course, if by a stroke of luck the Russian forward is selected among the top four and the Canadiens end up with Smith or Carlsson, we will also be ecstatic on June 28th.
In any case, we fervently hope that the team takes a swing for the fences and chooses one of the top five talents in this draft class.
Furthermore, Suzuki also mentioned that he will be present in Nashville to witness the draft live, along with Kaiden Guhle, who will be there to support his brother-in-law Riley Heidt, who is seen as a first-round prospect.
