A few days ago, we learned that former Edmonton Oilers and Chicago Blackhawks player, Fernando Pisani, was hired by the Tricolore for the upcoming season, taking on a role as an amateur scout.

However, according to information reported by journalist Nicolas Cloutier of TVA Sports, scout Matt Turek, who oversees players in Ontario, is no longer part of the organization.

Indeed, after accepting the position of interim general manager with the Hamilton Bulldogs in the OHL, Turek had to resign from his duties with the Montreal Canadiens due to a conflict of interest.

"Ontario scout Matt Turek no longer works for the Canadiens, the organization confirmed. Turek is notably recognized for having played a significant role in the hiring of defenseman Arber Xhekaj, a revelation for the Canadiens last season as an undrafted player." - Nicolas Cloutier

Although his name still appeared on the organization's official website last year, Turek reportedly left the Tricolore in October 2022. He was notably replaced by Joey Tenute, who was drafted in the 8th round by the New Jersey Devils in 2023.
