Official Announcement Regarding Arber Xhekaj is Clearly Not Unanimous Among the Tricolore's Fans
Yesterday, it was learned that the head coach of the Ottawa Senators, D.J. Smith, had a very specific strategy for tonight's game against the Tricolore. Indeed, there will practically be no regular lineup players in uniform, as several fighters such as Mark Kastelic, Zack MacEwen, Djibril Toure, and Bokondji Imama will be in the game.
Let's just say things are likely to get heated at the Bell Centre!
However, a decision made by Martin St-Louis clearly did not sit well with Canadiens' fans today. Oddly, the CH's head coach has sidelined all players capable of dropping the gloves, namely Arber Xhekaj, Michael Pezzetta, and John Parker-Jones.
There are strong hopes that this situation won't come back to haunt the organization as Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, Kirby Dach, and Juraj Slafkovsky might find themselves obligated to defend themselves if an altercation were to occur.
Knowing that the Sens are coming to Montreal with a very clear idea in mind, having Arber Xhekaj in the lineup would likely have deterred some opposing players from going after the Tricolore's stars.
One thing is for sure, even though the Canadiens should easily win this game, it's a risky bet that, hopefully, will not have negative repercussions on the health of our best forwards.
