PK Subban is at the center of a big controversy related to a comment he made during last night's game
During the first game of the second round between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Florida Panthers, a moment on ESPN created controversy on social media, and it involved P.K. Subban.
After the game, while the panelists were discussing what the Maple Leafs needed to do to bounce back in the second game, Subban made a comment that caused a strong reaction.
Spontaneously, the former Canadiens defender made a reference to rapper Lizzo, linking a comment to the singer's physique.
"Listen, maybe they need to pack a Lizzo-sized lunch. They weren't prepared, in my opinion." - PK Subban
While some found this funny, the majority was offended by his speach.
"I feel like ESPN is going to have to take some action, no?"
"'Maybe they need to pack a Lizzo-sized lunch.' PK Subban. F**k you, PK. Black women aren't a punchline to you."
"PK Subban might catch these Lizzo-sized hands for that comment."
"P.K. Subban really said 'Lizzo-sized lunch?' That's... not okay. That's fatphobic."
As you can see, this sparked many reactions on Twitter.
Do you think PK Subban crossed a serious line with this inappropriate comment live on television?
