Pierre-Luc Dubois receives a real slap in the face from the Los Angeles Kings

In the heart of numerous rumors surrounding his possible arrival with the Montreal Canadiens this summer, Pierre-Luc Dubois was finally traded to the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for Gabriel Vilardi, Alex Iafallo, and Rasmus Kupari. Subsequently, the Quebecois center player notably signed an eight-season agreement valued at 68 million dollars.

Many experts were therefore very eager to see the role that PLD will play next season, as he joins a team that already has several talented centers, namely Anze Kopitar, Quinton Byfield, and Phillip Danault. Moreover, journalist Zach Dooley revealed significant information regarding the line composition that the Kings' head coach intends to use.

Indeed, according to what Todd McLellan mentioned during a recent press briefing, Pierre-Luc Dubois will start the training camp on the third line. Apparently, the organization doesn't seem to have much confidence in his abilities, as he will complete a line comprised of Kevin Fiala and Arthur Kaliyev.

Ouch! A third-line center at 8.5 million per season? Let's just say that's pretty expensive!

Let's hope for the native attacker from Ste-Agathe-des-Monts that he will get a promotion before the first game of the regular season, otherwise his offensive production might considerably decrease this year. You can understand that this decision clearly does not have unanimous support among the fans of the Los Angeles Kings at the moment.

It will be very interesting to see how the situation will progress, but with players like Anze Kopitar and Phillip Danault, it wouldn't be surprising if his playing time is greatly reduced this season.

One thing is for sure, this will be a case to watch over the coming weeks!
