There's no doubt that the young Austrian has a promising future ahead, with most experts seeing him as the best defenseman of the draft. However, now that the Habs have a deep pool of prospects in the defensive department, the organization will absolutely need to focus on a glaring need: the lack of a top-tier forward.
Fortunately for the CH, an exceptional prospect might be available in the next draft who would surely bring an offensive contribution greatly benefiting the Bleu-Blanc-Rouge attack. This is none other than the 16-year-old forward, Cole Eiserman, known for being a remarkable goal scorer. In fact, many scouts already compare his blistering shot to that of Auston Matthews or Cole Caufield.
The forward from Newburyport has been sensational with the U.S. development program this season, accumulating an astonishing total of 69 goals and 35 assists (104 points) in just 62 games. It's unheard of for a 16-year-old forward, showing just how much of a consistent threat Eiserman is in the opposing territory.
Wow! Imagine the havoc Cole Caufield and Cole Eiserman could wreak on the same line. Opposing defensemen would clearly be at a loss.
Moreover, the 5'11", 192-pound forward continued his streak with the U.S. team this summer. He scored twelve goals and provided eight assists (20 points) in seven games during the U-17 World Hockey Challenge and then scored nine goals in seven games at the U-18 World Championship.
Of course, the Canadiens would have to have a terrible season this year if Kent Hughes wants a shot at drafting the young American next June since the prospect is considered a potential top 3 pick for the 2024 draft. But, there's nothing stopping Montreal fans from dreaming about such an outcome.
