Reinforcements for the CH's attack this summer? Two names in particular have just been brought up
Last night, Maxim Lapierre was on the show 'JiC' on TVA Sports and he made a very interesting statement about the upcoming free agency market which will open on the 1st of July.
Indeed, the former Canadien player mentioned that he would like to see General Manager Kent Hughes sign forwards to come support Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Kirby Dach next season. He notably mentioned two players who, according to him, could represent interesting options for the Tricolore.
Firstly, Maxim Lapierre suggested that Tyler Bertuzzi would be an ideal candidate to play on the CH's first two lines, as he advocates for a very intense style of play. The Bruins' forward is also capable of regularly scoring points, as evidenced by his 16 points in 21 games with Boston this year. Bertuzzi particularly excelled during the first round of the playoffs, collecting five goals and five assists in seven games.
The analyst at TVA Sports then surprised everyone by stating that he would like Kent Hughes to try and sign 36-year-old forward, Ryan Reaves. Known primarily for his toughness, the Wild forward could provide serious help to Arber Xhekaj in protecting the Canadiens' young players. Having played more than 800 games in the NHL, his experience would be a major asset for an inexperienced team like the Canadiens.
