In the last few minutes, TVA Sports journalist, Renaud Lavoie, has set the web on fire by posting a photo on his personal account.
In Lavoie's post, we can see three promising prospects from the Montreal Canadiens organization, who are present at the Upper Deck Rookie Showcase in Washington.
The three prospects are Owen Beck, Filip Mesar, and Sean Farrell.
For those who are not familiar with this event, it occurs annually before the start of each new season, with the purpose of promoting rookies who might potentially play in the NHL this year. Upper Deck also takes the opportunity to make official hockey cards of the players who are present.
We also learned that the Canadiens are the best represented team at this showcase, along with the Columbus Blue Jackets, with three representatives.
Moreover, the first three picks of the 2023 batch are participating, namely Conor Bedard, Leo Carlsson, and Adam Fantilli.
For those wondering why David Reinbacher is not there, you should know that they usually invite the youngsters who might make the jump to the big league. Hence, that's why Will Smith (4th overall pick) is not there either.
Let's say that this gives a good clue about the real chances of seeing the Austrian defender break into the Canadiens' lineup this year. He is expected to play in some preseason games, but he will most likely return to Switzerland to play his last season in Europe.
