In an interview with Jean-Charles Lajoie while Monty is in Trois-Rivières attending the Lions' game and interacting with fans, the host asked if he was returning to Montreal tonight or tomorrow.
Samuel replied that he would watch the beginning of the game and then head back to Montreal to rest for tomorrow's match.
That was enough for JiC to make a connection, suggesting that Montembeault might be the starting goalie against the Oilers on Saturday night. You can see the sequence around 4 minutes and 45 seconds into the following clip:
In my opinion, it's not the scoop of the century, and it doesn't guarantee anything. Even if Samuel is the backup goalie, he must be 100% ready for the game and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
But, well, it wouldn't be surprising either if Martin St-Louis calls upon his best goalie to face the formidable offense of Connor McDavid and the Oilers.
