There's a new development in the career of former Montreal Canadiens defenseman, Andrei Markov, as he appears on the cusp of confirming major news about his future.
Indeed, following his controversial recent departure from HC Spartak Moscow, the former CH's number 79 is reported to be joining a new KHL team.
"According to certain information, Andrei Markov would be joining Igor Larionov's coaching team with Torpedo."
Markov is dedicating his post-playing career to coaching, making this a very interesting development for him and his new vocation.
Now 44 years old, the former sixth-round pick in 1998 by the Canadiens has played 990 NHL games, all in Montreal, accumulating an impressive record of 119 goals and 572 points.
