Significant and Unexpected Turn of Events Regarding Mike Hoffman
After a season of 34 points in 67 games for the Tricolore's forward, it becomes increasingly evident that Hoffman will not be part of the Canadiens' plans in the short term.
Knowing that Mike Hoffman will not stay in Montreal for much longer, having him play in the Tricolore uniform for another season would almost make no sense.
Considering there are several offensive players with great potential and at the very beginning of their careers, a veteran like Hoffman who doesn't bring anything particularly important to his team, in my opinion, deserves less of a place in the lineup than rookies and young players like Rafaël Harvey-Pinard or Sean Farrell.
The possibility of sending Hoffman through waivers to demote him to the Laval Rocket in the AHL is a very real good option that has just been raised.
Hoffman's presence in the team's lineup has become a real hot potato, especially considering that there is currently a surplus of forwards in Montreal.
Moreover, giving a place to a young player who can develop over the seasons with the Canadiens would be a much healthier decision for the team and the players concerned.
