Today marks the end of the famous NHL Combine in preparation for the upcoming draft. On this last day, the players officially have their measurements taken so that the National League can have the exact height and weight of the players who will be selected in a few weeks.

However, the measurements can sometimes reveal rather surprising surprises given that they do not exactly match those provided by the different junior teams.

This is particularly the case for the young phenomenon Connor Bedard who will certainly be the first choice in the 2023 draft. Listed at 5'10" or 5'11" by numerous sources, the forward is actually a little over 5 feet 9 inches tall.

There is no doubt that this will not affect the Chicago Blackhawks' choice as Bedard is by far the best player of the 2023 class, but it has still not stopped fans from making several comments about this surprising news.

What is rather impressive is that the 18-year-old forward will officially become the smallest first overall pick in NHL history. This shows once again that the size of a player is no longer as important as it used to be, as we can confidently say that Connor Bedard will become one of the best players in the NHL in the coming years!
