Surprise: Cayden Primeau traded for a Hometown forward?
The situation with goaltenders is causing significant reactions in Montreal and Edmonton, but for opposite reasons. The Canadiens have plenty of options, while the Oilers must work with what they have.
For several years, Ken Holland has been grappling with this issue in Edmonton without finding a solution. The GM signed Jack Campbell to a hefty salary, which proved to be a significant mistake. As a result, the team still needs help in the net.
On the Canadiens' side, there's a serious lack of depth and talent in offense. Therefore, both teams could benefit from a trade that addresses their respective needs.
This is precisely what an observer suggests. According to them, Cayden Primeau and Raphaël Lavoie would form a solid foundation for such an exchange, and I must admit, I like the idea as well.
Primeau doesn't have the opportunity to develop and thrive in Montreal, and the same goes for Lavoie in Edmonton. A trade between the two could undoubtedly benefit both teams.
