The Canadiens send a player down, and Arber Xhekaj is on everyone's lips
In the late evening, following the game against the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Canadiens announced that they had sent a player down to Laval.
Arber Xhekaj's name was, of course, on everyone's lips, as there are many rumors surrounding him, and the Canadiens don't play again until February 6.
However, it wasn't him who was sent down; it was forward Lucas Condotta. He will have only played one game with the big club.
With the current team break, it's entirely normal for him to be sent down, but it could signal the return of a center.
This week, Alex Newhook began training. Initially expected to return in early March, his timeline could be moved up.
We'll see in the coming days during Canadiens' practices. For now, the concern persists, as there are only three centers in the lineup.
