The NHL has just made a last-minute announcement regarding the Canadiens' 5th pick and the draft
In the past few hours, the NHL has made an official announcement in preparation for the draft that will take place on June 28. Indeed, every year, experts in prospect analysis publish a 'Mock Draft' on the official league page, thereby revealing their predictions regarding the Canadiens' pick. Needless to say, this exercise is always eagerly anticipated by fans.
Two experts played the game to predict the 32 selections that will be made in the first round of the draft. As you can see, the two journalists did not arrive at the same consensus, which clearly shows that several conflicting pieces of information have been mentioned in the media or behind the scenes at the NHL.
In the 'Mock Draft' carried out by Mike Morreale, the CH would draft Ryan Leonard at the 5th rank, while in Adam Kimelman's, Kent Hughes would set his sights on Russian phenomenon Matvei Michkov.

We strongly hope that Adam Kimelman has privileged information about the preferences of the Canadiens' top brass for the draft. We continue to believe that it would be a real steal to select a player as talented as Matvei Michkov at the 5th rank.
