The health condition of Rafaël Harvey-Pinard is a cause for concern for the Canadiens
During the game against the Blues in St. Louis, Rafaël Harvey-Pinard sustained a lower-body injury. It seems like it's the ankle that took the hit, but being the resilient warrior that he is, he is determined to play despite the pain.
The concern arises because this injury could lead to another, and that's precisely the point Renaud Lavoie raised. In Tuesday night's game against the Flames, RHP had more difficulty finishing his shifts, and he received treatment on Wednesday.
"We had just passed the midpoint of the game [...] and you see Rafaël (Harvey-Pinard) having a lot of difficulty finishing his shifts, a lot of difficulty getting back to the bench. I know he played 13 minutes yesterday, and he continued to take his shifts, but you see that the lower body, call it the ankle, which was the problem initially, the right ankle, does it create other problems?
That's my concern. You know how much I value and appreciate players who play through injuries. I think we see that in Rafaël's case."
- Renaud Lavoie
Did RHP return to the game too quickly? Not only did he attempt a comeback in the same game, but he was on skates very quickly after the injury and returned to the game quite early.
Let's hope it's nothing major in his case because his contribution to the team is invaluable.
