The new acquisition of the Canadiens is making headlines for the wrong reasons
Kent Hughes pulled off a real magic trick by acquiring a third-round pick, in addition to forward Tanner Pearson, in return for the surplus goaltender, Casey DeSmith.
If in Montreal, this trade is greatly pleasing to the fans, as Pearson could become an interesting element in the team's lineup, possibly becoming a new asset to trade during the season, it's not the same finding for the main party concerned.
The 31-year-old player is making headlines for the wrong reasons, just a few hours following the trade. As reported by Canucks beat reporter, Rick Dhaliwal, he was strongly turned down by Pearson after contacting him to get his first comments on the transaction.

The first-round pick in 2012, was really not in a good mood, as he seemed to be having a hard time digesting the announcement of this trade to Montreal.
In a way, we can understand this sentiment, as he experienced a challenging season last year, playing only 14 games, due to a hand fracture that became infected during healing. At one point, his career even seemed to be in jeopardy, according to journalist Marc-Antoine Godin from Radio-Canada.
However, we must admit that this first impression of the newcomer to the Canadiens leaves us somewhat unsatisfied.
Moreover, he will report to the team's camp, as his presence has already been confirmed by the organization. It will be interesting to hear his impressions after digesting the news for a few days when he addresses the media soon.
