The worst is confirmed for Jonathan Drouin, who receives quite a blow
It was a smiling and carefree Jonathan Drouin who showed up at the Colorado Avalanche's training camp. The forward had one less burden to carry on his shoulders, and it was refreshing to see him in this state.
Right at the beginning of the season, he was placed in a position to succeed, alongside Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen. He even collected an assist in his very first period. Since then, it's been a dry spell.
Jonathan has, therefore, tumbled down to the 2nd and then 3rd line. And now, the worst is confirmed. He is currently in a five-player rotation to form the 4th line.
This means he's not even certain to participate in the next game, despite being in good health. In eight games, he has gone from a high point to a low one. Needless to say, this is not what anyone had hoped for him.
It's not too late, and Jo has a lot of talent. We genuinely hope he can bounce back from this slow start to the season and secure a spot on an offensive line once again.
