Things are going from bad to worse for Galchenyuk: The forward is being sued by the National Bank for over 400,000 dollars
Former Montreal Canadiens forward Alex Galchenyuk is experiencing a nightmare July. On July 9th, he was arrested by the Scottsdale police and is now facing charges of hit and run, disorderly conduct, refusal to obey, resisting arrest, and threats and intimidation.
Adding to his troubles, the Arizona Coyotes' management decided to terminate his one-season contract that he had signed just twelve days earlier, making him an unrestricted free agent.
To make matters worse, the Journal de Montreal has just revealed significant information about the 3rd overall pick in the 2012 draft, stating that Galchenyuk is being sued by the National Bank for an amount exceeding $400,000.
"The situation keeps going from bad to worse for hockey player Alex Galchenyuk, who is being sued by a bank for nearly $400,000, just days after getting into trouble with the police in Arizona and being released from his contract with the Coyotes." - Journal de Montreal
Things are not going well for the former number 27 of the Canadiens! We sincerely hope he can get the help he needs to get out of this disastrous situation.
"In April of this year, the bank allegedly informed him that he was in default of payment, but he reportedly refused to pay the amount he owed to the bank." - Journal de Montreal
The reason? Alex Galchenyuk allegedly did not adhere to payment agreements regarding a $300,000 loan he had taken from the National Bank during his time with the Montreal Canadiens (2014). Indeed, the downfall continues for the forward who was once considered a future star player in the NHL.
