The Dallas Stars made a tragic announcement recently, regarding the death of Raymond Sawada, a former NHL hockey player and former member of the Stars organization.
This news is extremely sad, especially since Sawada was only 38 years old and had celebrated his daughter's birthday shortly before going to play hockey.
Unfortunately, Sawada never returned home, as he collapsed on the ice during the game and died suddenly of a heart attack. Just writing this story brings up emotions and sadness. It must have been a terrifying and heartbreaking scene for everyone who witnessed it.
Our sincerest thoughts go out to his family and loved ones, including his partner Nicole, as well as his two young daughters Victoria (9 years old) and Charlotte (6 years old). Losing a loved one is a difficult ordeal and we hope they will find the strength and support they need to get through this difficult time.
"It is with heavy hearts we mourn the passing of former Stars player, Raymond Sawada.
Our love goes out to his family, friends, and all the people he impacted in hockey and as a firefighter in his community." - Stars de Dallas
Raymond Sawada was selected 52nd overall in the 2004 draft by the Dallas Stars.
