Transaction involving a goaltender with the Canadiens: A major development has just surfaced through Renaud Lavoie
The general manager of the Montreal Canadiens, Kent Hughes, had to make a very important decision regarding the goaltender situation last night.
Indeed, although it is not a common practice in the NHL, the Canadiens' management decided to start the year with three goalies in their lineup: Samuel Montembeault, Jake Allen, and Cayden Primeau.
Surprisingly, while many expected a fierce battle between Samuel Montembeault and Jake Allen for the number one spot, it was the young 24-year-old American, Cayden Primeau, who stood out during the preseason games, forcing the management to keep him on the team.
However, according to information shared by journalist Renaud Lavoie, the Bleu-Blanc-Rouge (referring to the Canadiens by their colors) might make a significant decision in the coming weeks. According to him, it wouldn't be surprising if a goaltender was traded since Kent Hughes does not want to force Martin St-Louis to have three goalies on his roster.
