Trevor Zegras with the Canadiens: Major statement by Cole Caufield about the Ducks' forward and Jack Hughes
Cole Caufield has only played 130 games in the NHL, but he's already a fan favorite, and for good reason. The young forward is energetic, has an incredible shot, and possesses an outstanding attitude.
Even though he admits that he would sometimes like to be more low-key in his everyday life, Cole wouldn't change teams, and he's very happy to meet his fans.
"I haven't experienced anything scary yet, but it's for sure a unique experience," the 22-year-old said. "Moving around without being recognized is impossible. Sometimes, you would like to have quieter days. You have to do adult things, like going to the grocery store, and you get stopped by people on the way."
"Fans are great with us, so it allows us to give back to them," Cole Caufield added.
In Montreal, when you produce, people will adore you and let you know. This can be a factor that scares some players away but makes others envious, like Cole's two close friends, Jack Hughes and Trevor Zegras.
"They are so jealous of Montreal. Every time I tell them there's no better place to play, they tell me they love coming to the Bell Centre," Cole Caufield said.
"I told them they wouldn't believe it. We're really lucky to experience that every night. Whether we're first or last, people come and support us."
It's true that New Jersey and Anaheim are not the most popular NHL cities for hockey. Canadiens fans thrive on hockey, and it's a special experience for those who can perform under that pressure.
Moreover, Trevor Zegras's relationship with Anaheim isn't great. Could he be tempted to come to Montreal and experience the same frenzy as his friend Cole? Only the future will tell, but it would be exceptional!
